1921 ~ 2005

Knecht Realty, Inc. got its start when Elmer Knecht began his career in real estate by working part-time with Assemblyman Earl McEssy. After five years of working in partnership with the assemblyman, Elmer decided to open his own company out of his home. Elmer continued to work individually until his son, Tommy Knecht, entered the business in 1977. In 1985 the business was moved to the corner of Johnson and Chestnut Streets. With the increase of staff and business, Knecht decided to add an additional location. In 1988, 7 South Main St. Fond du Lac was added. This new location has provided benefits to both our staff and customers with storefront window displays, 2 private conference rooms, individual offices and a very convenient location.

Our staff offers over 90 years of sales experience. Our service area extends to a 90 mile radius of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

A special emphasis has been placed on residential properties. This residential market had proven to be a big part of our overall growth. Our office has consistently sold more than 90% of our residential listings before the listing period has expired.

2005 saw the passing of our founder and father, Elmer Knecht. The legacy he left was one of quality salesmanship in the area real estate market. Knecht Realty, Inc. will continue to be a vital part of the sales, leasing and appraisal of area properties. We look forward to many more years of service to the area, having just completed our 53rd year in business.

There is no "one good" initial offer based upon asking price. Why? Because there are so many variables in real estate and because sellers rarely set their asking prices with consideration to market value. Every peice of real property is unique and so is every selling situation.
